Luis Borruel Pérez nace en Sabiñánigo (Huesca, España) en 1929. Se inicia artísticamente en Valls (Tarragona) en la escuela de Artes y Oficios, formando parte del grupo Serafini, Manresa, Sanromá, etc. Ausente en Valls, retoma su vocación artística en Madrid por medio de la Asociación Española de Acuarelistas (AEDA), donde perfeccionó la técnica del agua de la mano de sus prestigiosos maestros. Fue miembro de la Junta Directiva y colaboró durante años en la tarea de la enseñanza de esta técnica.
Ha participado en numerosas exposiciones colectivas y concursos obteniendo varios premios. Se presentó individualmente de forma periódica con buen éxito en el territorio español.
Su concepto expresivo es de síntesis e idealización del objeto y, como se ve en esta pequeña muestra, con alguna tendencia a un moderado expresionismo.
La acuarela era su modo de expresión más habitual.
Fallece en Madrid en el año 2020.

He was born in Sabiñánigo (Huesca, Spain) in 1929.
He began artistically in Valls (Tarragona, Spain) at the School of Arts and Crafts, in a group formed as well by Serafini, Manresa, Sanromá and others. Once away from Valls, he took his artistic vocation back up in Madrid thanks to AEDA (the Spanish association of watercolour painters), where he mastered the water technique hand in hand with its prestigious teachers. He was part of the board of directors and took part for years in watercolour teaching activities — classes, live sessions and more — at AEDA.
He also took part in numerous collective exhibitions and contests, winning several awards. He exhibited individually on a regular basis, with success, across Spain.
His expressive concept stems from the synthesis and idealisation of the object, as can be seen in this small selection, with some tendency towards a moderate expressionism.
Watercolour was his preferred means of expression.
Luis Borruel passed away in Madrid in 2020.
