Crete combines rugged mountains, fertile valleys, and a coastline of turquoise waters. In the interior, gorges like Samaria cut through limestone cliffs, dotted with small villages where life moves slowly and traditions remain strong.

Along the coast, beaches and coves alternate with dramatic cliffs and ancient ruins, from Minoan palaces to Venetian fortresses. Olive groves and terraced fields shape the countryside, adding texture and color to the landscape.

Photographing Crete is about variety—the contrast between mountains and sea, wilderness and villages, past and present, all captured in light that changes from soft morning haze to golden sunset
