Guatemala is a country of striking landscapes and vivid traditions. In Antigua, cobblestone streets sit under the shadow of volcanoes, with colorful colonial facades and markets full of textiles and everyday life. The city feels both historic and vibrant, where ruins and churches stand beside cafés and street vendors. It is a photographers paradise.

Lake Atitlán offers a quieter rhythm. Surrounded by steep volcanic slopes and small villages, the lake changes mood with the light—calm and reflective at dawn, brilliant under the midday sun, and glowing softly as the day fades.

Further north, the highlands bring dramatic scenery and strong Mayan heritage. Terraced fields climb the hillsides, and traditional ceremonies and markets give a sense of living culture. The ruins of Tikal rise out of the jungle, massive stone structures hidden among dense forest and echoing with the calls of birds and howler monkeys.

Photographing Guatemala means moving between energy and stillness—busy streets, vast lakes, dense jungles, and the enduring presence of history and tradition.
